Banoffee Pie

Banoffee pie is an English dessert pie made from bananas, cream and toffee combined on a buttery biscuit base. The word "Banoffee" is used to describe any food that tastes of both banana and toffee. This is a no-bake recipe and the easiest pie you can ever make.


An impressive party piece and an ever - popular dessert you can share with your friends and family. šŸ˜‹


Ingredients

  • 7 - 8 digestive biscuits

  • 3 - 4 tbsp melted butter

  • 1 tin condensed milk

  • 2 bananas šŸŒ

  • Whipped cream

  • Grated Chocolate šŸ«(optional)


Method

  • The first step is to caramelize the condensed milk – we need to fill water in a pressure cooker and place the tin . Make sure the water level should be 1 inch above the tin. Close the cooker and keep it in medium flame . After 1-2 whistles , off the flame and let it set for 30 minutes .

(āŒDO NOT OPEN THE COOKER IMMEDIATELY – ITS DANGEROUS !āŒ)

  • Remember to use tongs to take the tin out of the cooker since the tin will be very hot , and let it rest for some time.

  • For the first layer of pie , take the digestive biscuits and blend it in a food processor – don’t make it to fine powder, a little bit of crumble is good for the texture.

  • Transfer the biscuit powder and add 3 tbsp of butter to it and mix it well. See if you can make a soft ball out of the mix, if so then its ready for the first layer. Layer the biscuit mix on your serving pan using a spoon (Do not press it too much, be gentle)

  • After the condensed milk tin is completely cooled, open it and layer the toffee on top of the layered biscuit mix as 2nd layer of the pie.

  • For the 3rd layer , slice the bananas to tiny slices and place the slices on top of the toffee layer .

  • Finally cover the banana layer with whipped cream. You may top it with grated chocolate šŸ«(optional) and serve it .
